How You Can Help: Young Girls in the Slum Communities
Anoushka, the founder of Ray of Change, learned a little bit about these girls' lives. She discovered that they can’t afford to go to school. This is a common reality for most Indian girls. Even though they are so young, they still have huge responsibilities because their parents have to work long hours. These include cooking, cleaning, and taking care of their many siblings. The siblings are very young, often toddlers or babies. They live in poorly constructed homes with little to no lighting. Their parents’ jobs are often labor-intensive so their parents are too tired to help out after work. Solar lighting would mean that they can stay inside and keep their siblings safe. This is a necessity for them, but unfortunately, their families can’t afford that. However, you can help us bring lighting to them through your donations!
